The Daily New Words

1. Distraction
-Something that takes your attention away from what you were doing or thinking about.

to distraction-With the results that you become upset, excited, or angry and unable to think clearly.

2. Committee
-A group of people who have been chosen to discuss something or decide something.


3. Quote
-To repeate exactly something that someboby else has said or written before.

-To give something as an example to support what you are saying.

4. Commission
-An official group of people who are asked to find out about something.

-money that a bank charges for providing a particular service.
-To ask/request an artist, writer to produce a piece of work.

5. Perspective
-The ability to think about problems and decisions in a reasonable way without exaggerating.

-Your opinion or attitude towards something.

6. Exaggerate
-To make something seem larger, better, worse than it really is.

7. Detention
-The act of stopping a person leaving a place, especially by keeping him/her in prison.

8. Lounge
-A comfortable room in a house or hotel where you can sit and relax.
-To sit, stand or lie in a lazy way.
